The Achterhoek is situated in the eastern part of The Netherlands, next to the German border This region is recognized as one of the country's most beautiful rural regions, with spacious paddocks bordered by wooded banks, old forests crossed by creeks, centuries old villages with characteristic farmhouses, with castles and vistas. We visited one of those farmhouses, spending a wonderful day with our cousins and families.
