Our Foxes patrol on summer camp in Haarle getting ready for inspection. My assistant leader was Joop Hengeveld, the other 'foxes' were Jo Berkhout, Martin de Man, Jan Hermsen, Piet Freriks, Jan Siebenheller and two others who's names escaped me.
We had to improvise in building our own kitchen with a fireplace, table, benches and racks for pots and pans, and waterbags and clotheslines.Water was carried from a well.
We learned to make knots for all occasions and became fluent in Morse code, a lot of fun at night in a pitch dark country side, using our torches to signal our messages.
